Requeriments

Desktop

NearSolid is built entirely with web technologies, which means it runs directly in your browser—no need to install any software. Whether you're on Windows, Mac, or Linux, as long as you have a modern web browser, you’re good to go.

For the best experience, we recommend using Chrome, Brave, or Edge since they are powered by the Chromium engine. Performance may vary with other browsers, as I've noticed it runs significantly better on Chromium-based browsers than on Safari or Firefox.

Mobile Compatibility

NearSolid is primarily designed for desktop, but it also runs on mobile devices with a modern browser.

Tested on iPhone 11 – The experience is smooth, and AR features work well.
Best browsers: Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers.

Limitations on mobile devices

While NearSolid works on smartphones and tablets, some limitations apply:

  • Performance issues – More complex 3D models may cause slowdowns or crashes on devices with limited RAM.
  • Rendering limitations – Some mobile GPUs might not support advanced rendering features used in NearSolid.
  • Storage & memory constraints – Mobile browsers have stricter memory limits, which can affect loading large projects.
  • Limited multitasking – Unlike desktop, switching apps may cause the browser to reload the project.
  • Touch controls – Navigation is supported, but some interactions might differ from the desktop experience.

For the best experience, we still recommend using NearSolid on a desktop or laptop whenever possible.

Developer Comments

Any computer capable of running 3D software reasonably well should be sufficient. I've tested it on machines up to 10 years old, and it works fine.

For the best experience with NearSolid, I recommend using Chrome, Brave, or Edge (all powered by the Chromium engine). I've tested it on a Mac (Mac Mini), and it performs noticeably better than Firefox and significantly better than Safari 🤨.
